A native of Upperville, Virginia, Cricket attended The Hill School and Foxcroft School in Middleburg. She graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville with a Bachelor's Degree in Rhetoric and Communications. Raised on a 300+ acre cattle farm in western Loudoun County within a horse-oriented family. Cricket’s late father, Erskine Bedford served over two decades as Master of the Piedmont Fox Hounds and co-trustee of Middleburg’s own race course Glenwood Park. Cricket is a current member of many equine related associations, including the Virginia Fall Steeplechase Race Board, the Virginia Steeplechase Association, the Museum of Hounds and Hunting, and the Masters of Fox Hounds Association. Cricket is also an active member of the Piedmont Fox Hounds and several local environmental conservation organizations. Cricket is a member of Greater Piedmont Realtors, the National Association of Realtors the Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS).
